On Mind and Matter.

twenty-seconds_Nexbio

Two weeks, a group of Swiss and Brazilian startups and researchers immersing themselves into the bioeconomy, each answering two questions in their own unique way: How did the Amazon embraceyou? What did you learn about the bioeconomy?

Produced as part of the nexbio-Swissnex Fellowship organised by Swissnex Brasil, Institute of Management of the University of St. Gallen in Latin America and CONFAP (Brasil)

Twenty Seconds

“Abraços Amazónicos” – Amazonian Embraces was a travel diary around a larger textile project called twentyseconds.

Twenty seconds is the amount of time it takes for an embrace to cause the release of hormones that foster connection. We create textiles that embrace you in that sense — crafted with a healthy value chain and filled with stories, digitally and physically woven into the fabric using regenerative materials.

As a filmmaker, I’ve experienced how deeply stories move us. Now I’m exploring how they can live in unexpected places, like textiles, to share narratives on the Bioeconomy — showing how creativity, sustainability, and business can come together in meaningful ways.

The intention is to foster a centuries-old tradition of textile communicating and telling stories. Weavings, knots and patterns embodied the worlds’ first books, even music sheets.
