Geo-Metric Transition Series / Star Trekker

Star Trekker is part of a series of works that question our understanding of time and space, exploring how our perception of the world is shaped by learned concepts and measurements that can sometimes stand between us and the possibility of change.

Structures of power and connection are closely linked to our ideas of geometry. Imperialism involves the export of metrics and measurements, the design of maps, and the naming of centers and capitals. In doing so, it creates not only a geography of power distribution, but also shapes our inner perception of the world and how we relate to it.

By exploring the theme of transformation, we are invited to fundamentally question existing concepts of space and connection. This is not about replacing old structures with new ones according to the same principles—how long, how short, how large—but about rediscovering our way of being in space.

Star Trekker is an invitation to journey into outer space, where the earthly laws of physics become obsolete, even impractical. We can sit within it and sense this connection. Through its conical form, it moves horizontally. Its materials allow it to respond vertically: it expands and contracts, breathes in and out, offers shelter, and remains open to the new.
