We orient our decisions today toward the future — even as it becomes clear that much will change. But how might things continue? Which positive ideas and models for the future of Swiss democracy do we want to make visible?
At the Design Jam, democracy met art. Artists and experts from politics, science, and civil society came together to imagine democracy in 2040. Through creative collaboration, they developed tangible artifacts of the future that opened new perspectives on the present. The setting was not any office but inside an art exhibition curated by We Are Awareness in Art.
Rooted in #futuresliteracy, the process combined dreaming, researching, prototyping, and making. By materializing ideas, participants created a shared space for learning and reflection.
Is this design thinking? Yes — and no. It goes further by daring to dream beyond existing possibilities and by bringing the energy of a positive, imagined future back into the present.
