The caterpillar sheds its skin five times until retreating into its Chrysalis. Inside its cocoon it nearly dissolves and adopts a new shape. Now a butterfly, it is vital for it to break out by itself as well as to pause before taking in the new life and perspective.

The Chrysalis is a series of sculptures symbolising the transformation and change of perspective from the caterpillar to the butterfly. People can sit in them, retreat and contemplate.
